For the past 20 years, the Northrop Grumman Health IT operating unit has been a leader in managed services and IT support to the health and human services industries. This specialized component of Northrop Grumman supports Government and commercial organizations in health-related disciplines, including biomedical research, public health, health care management, health care delivery, and clinical informatics. This support includes IT solutions and services as well as a full spectrum of consulting, research and delivery support services, and subject matter expertise. We provide systems integration and systems engineering. Our expertise includes custom development of large, complex software systems; data management, warehousing, mining, analysis, visualization, and information security. Niche health capabilities within Health include computational chemistry, data visualization, biostatistics, HIPAA-compliant middleware platforms and frameworks, patient safety, medical surveillance, and theater medical information systems. Additionally, Health IT has in-depth domain knowledge in health promotion, communication, and prevention, healthcare management, and clinical information technology.

The Health IT operating unit designed and developed the largest global, enterprise-wide electronic health record (EHR) in the world, which supports more than 7 million beneficiaries, 7,000 physicians, and 81 facilities.

We pioneered the only operational nationwide health information exchange in the U.S. in more than 170 facilities serving 19 million personnel. We support development and operation of the only national public health information exchange in the world. Health IT is the contractor for the only civilian health information exchange initiative in the U.S. We designed and developed a unique medical terminology / ontology translation service.
