CommandPoint™ Automated Field Reporting (AFR)
One of the most important aspects of law enforcement is to keep the officer in the field engaged with the public. In fact, communityoriented policing uses this concept in order that officers may better understand the areas they serve. To enable the field personnel to create reports in the field, Northrop Grumman has created CommandPoint™ AFR, an automated field reporting product. This user-friendly system and time-saving tool is fully integrated into a larger public safety system that allows the officer in the field to create, submit, review, edit and post reports to a records management system (RMS) without duplicate data entry. Many hours saved by each officer each day can now be focused on the primary mission: public safety. This makes a jurisdiction more productive, thus a safer place to live and work.
With CommandPoint AFR, officers can create reports whether or not they are connected to a wireless network. When a wireless connection is found, completed reports are automatically transferred. This feature enables much greater flexibility as to where and when officers create their reports while minimizing the impact on the network. CommandPoint AFR presents the user with a very familiar Windows-based GUI environment, utilizing familiar Microsoft tools and standards such as combination boxes, option buttons, grids, hot keys and wizards. CommandPoint AFR provides users with all the robust functionality found in most Windows systems. The GUI also includes industryspecific data entry shortcuts like a crossreference list for people and locations.
