Global Network Manager
Northrop Grumman’s Global Network Manager (GNM) is an international version of the Joint Interface Control Offi cer (JICO) Support System (JSS), a program of record for the U.S. Department of Defense.GNM delivers a coherent, realtime common tactical picture by implementing dynamic, integrated network planning and management capabilities for tactical radios and networks. The JICO coordinates with joint force planners who specify assets and requirements. The JICO uses the GNM to develop the network architecture and communicate the plan to the users.
During operations, air, ground, maritime and intelligence participants inject information into the tactical picture. The JICO uses the GNM to monitor the status of joint and coalition tactical networks and gateways to ensure information exchange requirements are met and to adapt to changes in the campaign plan. The JICO issues dynamic network management commands to modify network architecture in real time to optimize ongoing military operations.
